Why Invest with us?
Great Potential
Demand for electricity is growing globally. Hydropower plants have a long lifetime and relatively low set-up and operating costs. Georgia’s landscape and rivers offer ideal conditions for hydropower construction, and the country’s business environment is stable and secure.
Experience and Know-How
We do what we believe in and understand. We have been in the energy and renewables business for over 10 years, have strong relationships with top suppliers, know the local environment, and work with industry experts both in the Czech Republic and in Georgia.
Stable Investments
Hydropower plants represent a long-term stable and safe asset with an attractive return. The fund is transparent, professionally managed, and the investments are insured against political and territorial risks at all stages of construction.
Social Responsibility
All our projects are based on ESG principles. We are dedicated to building run-of-the-river power plants, which do not require large dams or reservoirs to operate, do not restrict the ecosystem of watercourses, do not place a burden on the environment, and are not a source of direct emissions.
About Us
Georgia Energy SICAV Fund was created by a group of experts with extensive experience in hydropower plant construction and technical know-how in financing and engineering. Our team has in-depth knowledge of the Georgian environment, and can carry out all of the communication with local authorities, related administration, a smooth construction, and subsequent operation.
A free and open economy. Georgia offers a stable political and business environment, a dynamically growing economy, clear legislation, simple tax rules, and low taxation.
Excellent Business Environment. Georgia's liberal market allows for a smooth incorporation and start-up, and an easy transfer of production. Georgia ranks 7th (out of 190 countries) in Doing Business 2020 rankings.
Unique Natural Resources. The country has more than 300 rivers offering ideal conditions for the construction of hydropower plants. Only 25% of the overall potential of 15 GW has been exploited so far.
Government Priority. As Georgia is still dependent on imported electricity and its production from natural gas, the projects are guaranteed maximum support from local authorities.
International Cooperation. Georgia is party to numerous international free trade agreements, including an association agreement with the EU. Major Western organisations such as USAID, IFC, and EBRD are also actively involved in the country’s development.
